Appleton corn shellers, wood saws, and feed grinders were widely used, and Appleton gasoline engines were available for several years. During the first two years of marketing, the Appleton tractor had a 14-28 horsepower rating. In 1919 this was dropped to 12-20, although the same Buda motor was used throughout production. Two forward speeds were provided. Nuttall transmission, Bosch magneto, and Pickering governor were all standard equipment.
